This is the result of 30 plus years of living in a house with no maintenance on the back deck. It started to deteriorate and then the stairs finally gave out when our teenage son tried to walk down them about 10 years ago, falling through to the ground. Since then it has only gotten worse, there are barely any support beams left, and you’ll notice most of the railings are also gone. The deck is completely unusable and against any safety regulations there may be concerning decks. We think one day it might even collapse when the squirrels run on it! Scary!
