Please join us for the 2nd annual JVS Car Show Saturday, June 1st! Last year we had over 75 participants, and we are excited to have the room this year for over 150 cars! This year we will be located in the Ace Hardware parking lot, near Jamestown Oven and Grill- in Jamestown NC.
All classic cars, jeeps, motorcycles, and muscle cars welcome! Entry fee is only $5 per car- and all entry fees go directly toward our cause.
All funds raised will go directly to Jason Spangler's kidney transplant fund, through National Foundation for Transplants; a nonprofit organization that assists transplant patients to raise money to help with expenses that insurance does not cover.
Jason (35) only has one kidney, which has been slowing declining in function since age 5. Even with a good diet and close medical attention, a kidney transplant is inevitable. He follows a strict renal diet, and has been on the transplant list almost 4 years. Jason’s kidney function is currently at 12% and we are actively searching for a donor. Jason's full story-

Open for Everyone: We will have a 50/50 raffle, as well as a separate raffle with lots of great prizes (gift certificates, gas cards, etc).

Car show in honor of local transplant patient
Jason Spangler, of Jamestown, has been awaiting a kidney transplant for more than four years, and he’s hopeful a donor match will be found soon.
When Jason was just 5 years old, a biking accident led to the discovery of his kidney issues. Testing after the accident revealed that he only had one kidney. Before he was even 10 years old, Jason and his family learned a kidney transplant would likely be in his future.
Now 36, Spangler feels very fortunate that proper diet and exercise have extended the life of his kidney, and he has not needed the surgery until now. His only kidney currently functions at just 15 percent, and doctors have said a kidney transplant is critical to his survival.
The average kidney transplant costs approximately $250,000. And that’s only the beginning. Although his health insurance will cover a portion of the transplant costs, he still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications, which are very costly.
To overcome these financial challenges, Spangler and his family turned to the National Foundation for Transplants (NFT) for assistance. NFT is a nonprofit organization that helps transplant patients raise funds to pay for transplant-related expenses.
“My heart goes out to Jason and his family,” said Claire Prince, NFT fundraising consultant. “I know he’d like nothing more than to spend more quality time with his loved ones, and at NFT, we want to help the Spanglers raise the funds they need for his treatment and care.” To help offset his expenses, volunteers are holding the 2nd Annual Car Show Benefit in Spangler’s honor. The event will be held Saturday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the ACE Hardware/Jamestown Oven & Grill parking lot, 705 W. Main St. in Jamestown.
To enter a car, the fee is $5. It’s free for the public to attend, but donations are encouraged and appreciated. Food will be available for purchase from Jamestown Oven & Grill and Dolci Bella Bakery, with a portion of the proceeds going to NFT in Spangler’s honor.
The event will also include raffle prizes and live music.
