Talking Heads frontman David Byrne performed for an episode of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert, where he was joined by 12 other musicians, all wearing matching blue uniforms during their 20-minute set.
The band – led by Byrne alongside Mauro Refosco, Ray Suen, Kely Pinheiro, Daniel Mintseris, Stephane San Juan, Tim Keiper, Yuri Yamashita, Tendayi Kuumba, Sasha Rivero, Hannah Straney, Sean Donovan and Jordan Dobson – performed the songs “Everybody Laughs” and “Don’t Be Like That” from Byrne’s recent album Who is the Sky?, as well the Talking Heads tracks “(Nothing But) Flowers” and “Life During Wartime.”
Byrne released Who Is the Sky? back in September 2025, marking his first solo release since 2018’s American Utopia. He spent last fall/winter on the road in support of the album, with more dates planned for Australia, New Zealand, the U.K., and Europe in 2026.
